1.2.2 Discordant Sibling Pair Analysis

Discordant sibling pair analysis has been advanced as a powerful approach for quantitative traits  [65]. The power of such studies is critically dependent upon the definition of families with extremely discordant sibling pairs and the demonstration of hypertensive genetic variation with the trait. This study design, however, is laborious as families with extreme discordance for blood pressure within them need to be identified.
