ICD-10 is a system used to classify diseases. For this seminar you will need to get acquainted with the ICD classification system and learn how to code medical reports.

Learn how to use the interface. Notice how you can search the hierarchy using keywords, or browse the hierarchy using the navigation tree.
Use ICD to code some medical texts. ICD is useful for coding diagnoses and procedures. Keep this in mind when searching for codes.

Notice that ICD is actually more suited for coding diagnosis texts.
You will be graded according to your answers. A maximum of 5 points are available.
Present the ICD-10 system to the class. In the presentation you should: Show the ICD-GM system to the class. Show how to browse the hierarchy. Show how ICD is split into chapters. Show how to make searches.
