I was born in Lorca, Murcia on August 23, 1983. I completed bachelor's degree in Computer Science (2001 - 2006) at the University of Murcia. During my last B.S. year I was at the NTNU Norway through the Erasmus Programme. I received MS degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science for Engineering and Sciences (2009) and a European PhD degree in Computer Engineering (2012) from the University of Murcia, which was possible thanks to a PhD Scholarship from the Seneca Foundation.
I have collaborated in many research projects during my PhD at the Department of Informatics and Systems, University of Murcia. I did a research stay (13 weeks) at the University College London, Department of Genetics, Evolution & Environment in 2010. After I obtained my PhD degree I worked as postDoc at CeMSIIS, Medical University of Vienna (July 2013 - September 2014) in the project: Biomedical informatics for personalized medicine and pharmacogenetics. Currently, I am working at the Institute for Medical Informatics, Statistics and Documentation, Medical University of Graz (since September 2014). I was awarded for the BMFacts project by FWF Austria Science Funds through the Lise-Meitner Programme.
My current research goals are related to Biomedical facts, semantic web, Knowledge acquisition, Question answer system, co-occurrences analysis and Biomedical terminologies, but I am also interested in Pharmacogenetics, Next Generation Sequencing Analysis, Traslational Medicin and Semantic integration and generation of Open Data Sets.
